To fight insider security threat in the maritime sector, IMO launches new toolkit
In order to tackle insider security threats, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has rolled out a toolkit for the benefit of maritime operators. In order to protect ships and ports from terrorists, organized crime groups, among other threats, IMO has joined hands with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Together, the parties have developed an Insider Threat Toolkit that "outlines various good practice security measures, including background checks and vetting, access control measures, patrolling, surveillance and monitoring, advance technologies and the use of artificial intelligence," IMO noted.

Walking the sustainable path, Höegh Autoliners has recently received delivery of what is touted to be the largest and the greenest car carrier. Anglo-Eastern Group carries out bunkering of 100,000 m³ LNG across fleet
Unlocking a significant milestone, the Hong Kong-based ship management company Anglo-Eastern Group successfully carried out bunkering of 100,000 m³ of liquefied natural gas (LNG) across their fleet. Implemented through 35 LNG bunkering operations, the firm stepped up in their sustainability targets. Anglo-Eastern has LNG dual-fuel vessels in its fleet, which utilize a cleaner-burning alternative to the traditional marine fuels, in turn, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Aiming to alleviate impact on biodiversity, world's largest sailing cargo ship of modern times sets sail
The vessel that has been named as the world's largest sailing cargo ship — Anemos — has embarked on its maiden voyage from South Brittany's Concarneau. Developed by TransOceanic Wind Transport (TOWT) and PIRIOU shipyard-built, the vessel is all set to arrive in its home port of Le Havre next week.
The ship, known to use advanced sail tech with its primary propulsion mode being wind power, has been built keeping the sustainable approach in mind and aims at decarbonizing.
